Valborg

It feels like a Sunday today and Monday tomorrow. I really don’t want to go to school but it is my last chance to study structural engineering in school so I have to be there. Even if the lecture starts at 8am and there are no trams going to school. The bridge by the stop is being renovated so no trams or buses go to school until Monday, and no car traffic can go there from now and until December. Crazy!

I am glad tomorrow isn’t a Monday though, but a Friday. This time of the year we have so many different holidays. Like today was ay 1st and I am not sure exactly why we are off. I think it’s because today is the demonstration day. But that is so old school. I am not complaining though, May 1st is a good hangover day because yesterday was Valborg, one of the biggest party days in Sweden.

After two hours in school yesterday I had to do laundry for four hours. I was so tired after that that I took a two hour nap and met up with Chad and two of his friends to watch the Cortége. It was a blue sky but cold, almost two hours of watching 49 carriages was a little bit too much. But it was still nice.

We were in a hurry after that to get to Dzejna’s birthday dinner in Linné. No trams or buses were in service up on the mountain where Chalmers is, because of the parade, so we had to take a huge detour with several changes before we finally came to the restaurant. We were a big party so I actually didn’t have time to talk to the birthday girl, but I had a nice evening anyway.

Cortége 2014

Today I was a chauffeur and driving Chad around to different stores. Because of the demonstrations going on there were more or less no buses or trams in service so it was impossible to get around without a car. I bought a birthday gift to Linnea for the triple birthday party on Saturday. I hope she will like it.

Mom drove me home and on the way we did some grocery shopping. I made a chicken casserole I probably haven’t made in two years. But it still tasted the same as back then. It’s good to know that cooking is like riding a bicycle.

I probably should have been in bed already, but it is too hard when it is light out until like 9pm. And it is getting worse every day. I miss the 8pm sunsets in Cali.

Yesterday I got my Course Permission Codes for two of my four classes. I won’t need it for one of the other ones and the fourth is coming any day now hopefully. I will also get that money mom’s friend wanted to lend me tomorrow. That means I will apply for a room on campus in SLO. Yay!

Tooth ache for the last time

So bad timing for another stupid tooth ache. It started a few days ago but today I woke up and it really hurt. And it is still getting worse. I am so glad that these problems will be gone forever in two days!

The right one that got pulled almost four weeks ago stopped hurting like a week after, but I am not sure it healed properly. There is a hole there and I am afraid that food will stuck. I have to ask them if that is how it is supposed to be like on Tuesday.

Today I was at IKEA with mom after a short 40 minutes of work. Not many people wanted to be interview today so I had only one. At IKEA we had lunch and then bought a few things each, like potato smashers, candles and a new and bigger box for Cards Against Humanity.

The rest of the afternoon I was on the couch and accidently fell asleep watching Once Upon a Time. I hate being this tired all the time!!

Next week will be a short one and after that I need to start studying structural engineering for real. I thought I was gonna be better at studying this time since I only have one class, but I am just too lazy, so it will probably be like normal, the last two weeks before the exam, 24/7…

Forgotten

Wow, I have seriously completely forgotten that I have a blog and used to update it every day. I have a reason and I blame the computer game Guild Wars 2!
This week has been eventful, but I just didn’t remember to put it here, so I will now when I have a little time to kill. First of all I got my digital TV box on Monday, so now I have way over 100 TV channels. I don’t watch TV though…
I have also been working out quite a bit this week. My muscles are so sore right now and it will be very interesting walking in high heels tonight. The fancy dinnerparty with VIRUS is tonight. I have makeup on and my hair is full of cork screws. Wine, good food and good company, I think it will be a nice evening!
Me and my thesis partner have had a huge breakthrough this week with our thesis. We found a form online, and that form is pretty much the only thing we are gonna do. Of course customize it for Veidekke so we’ve also had a meeting with them and talked about what to add and remove. They also told us at that meeting that they think that we should skip the data and the whole LCA thing completely which will make the project so much easier!
I have been shopping which wasn’t too good. I bought a pair of chinos which is perfect in this warm spring weather. It’s been amazing these past two days, no jacket needed, the trees are getting green and flowers are everywhere. I love this season!
And lastly, but not least, I went to the liquorice and chocolate fair. So many samples I didn’t need dinner last night! I bought Chai Latte as a powder so I easily can drink it at home. I don’t have to spend a fortune at Espresso House (which I don’t do because I am kinda broke).
Last night after the fair I spent the evening with Chad and some of his friends. It was a very nice evening. I tried taking it easy since I have a big party tonight, but I didn’t get home until like 2:30am… Not so drunk though, and I could sleep in until 11 today.

I’m sorry for not updating, I am alive, just busy doing other things ^^

New TV

Another fullpacked day. It takes so much time to move. Today I got up at 8am to try to wash the cover and pillows and it worked. At 1pm I had an interview and at 2pm I had a meeting at Chalmers. Right after that I printed my resume for tomorrow’s scrutiny. A company is coming to Chalmers tomorrow to take a look at resumés and give tips.

To mom, and take the car. She actually came along. First stop, IKEA to buy some hangers/gallows whatever they are called. But you can’t just go to IKEA for one thing. I had a bunch of things when I was done…

Second stop was Maxi where I, once again, bought some food. And third stop Siba where I wanted to take a look at a TV. It seemed nice so I bought it. A 40″ Philips.

But I can’t really do anything with it right now. I need to get my router to work first because the Internet hole i the wall is right behind the big furniture the TV’s gonna be on later. And that fucking router refuses to work and I’ve been in a really bad mood tonight because of it. I have Internet if I use the cable directly from the hole to my computer, but when I plug the router in it doesn’t work. The router works, all the correct lights are on with the right color, but I can’t reach routerlogin.net where I need to configure the stupid thing. I think it might be because Bredbandsbolaget (my Internet Service Provider) wants to give me a username and password (which 1st, theyshould have given me on like last Thursday and which 2nd shouldn’t be needed since I already have Internet). This is all so retarted and confusing. It’s free for fuck sake!! It shouldn’t be this complicated when I don’t even pay for it. STUPID!!

I’ll call those assholes tomorrow and I sure hope they have a sollution to this ridiculous problem.

Unpacking

I didn’t sleep very well, first I had a nightmare about me not getting that job at Liseberg. And second, it wasn’t very comfortable sleeping on couch pillows and with blankets. But tonight will be different because I went to mom and picked some things up. For example an ethernet cable so I will be able to plug in my router, which I think I can do now, but I have no idea how to do it. I will take a look at it tomorrow. I also got my Picasso paintings, salt, a scale and a lamp.

My first errand was Inet where I bought a sound system. It was way more fun unpacking today with music coming out of good speakers. Then I went to Ica Maxi where I just walked around for a while, thinking what I should get. I only have the basic stuff, but I seriously don’t know what I need. I guess it will come eventually when I want to start cooking.

My third and last stop of the day was at IKEA where I bought a new rug, some candles, new plates, a plant and a lint roller.  And for lunch I had a 5kr hotdog.

My brother gave me a ride back to my place after I went to mom’s place. He has his behind the wheel test on Tuesday so he is out practice driving as much as possible. I just hope he will let me borrow the car tomorrow afternoon. I forgot to buy  gallows. After unpacking all mu clothes just now I realized I’m missing A LOT of gallows!

I’ve been unpacking like crazy since I got home. And I don’t have that much left now. I can’t see the kitchen table because of the layer of stuff on it. And I haven’t put anything in my bookshelves yet, but I will wait with that until I’ve bought a TV. I will probably have to move them around.

It’s time to go to bed now. I have to be up at 8 to try to wash the blanket and pillows and then I have an interview at 1pm and then a meeting at Chalmers. So much to do all the time.

IKEA

This morning I woke up at 8am. It’s Sunday and it sucks big time. I also woke up twice during the night at 3 and 5 but could go back to sleep after like ten minutes. It’s like the jetlag had a few days delay.

Today I went to IKEA with mom. I got a new pillow, the one I have had the last six days has been so extremely flat. Mom also bought a new frying pan and diod lamps for her closet. We had lunch and I think I have to say that the meatballs and mashed potatoes were better in San Diego. More flavor. But it is way better that you can choose how much food you want here. 8 meatballs is still a lot, but better than 15. We bought some jam and then drove back home.

The rest of the day we didn’t do anything. Well, mom installed the lamps but I’ve been so extremely tired so I’ve just been in my bed watching How I Met Your Mother. Stupid jetlag. I so wanted to go to bed at 6pm, but if I did I probably would have woken up at 4am tomorrow. And tomorrow is an important day, I have to be at my best for the job interview at Liseberg! I have a good feeling about it, but of course I’m still nervous, it is a job interview.

Wish me luck!
