2nd day of WoW

This post used to contain pictures, but due to new storage limitations from WordPress, I had to fix the problem and decided to create a new blog that works as an archive for all the posts from my two years in California. This full post can be found here.

Another fun and very eventful day is over. I am more tired than ever and will make this quick. The day started with a information meeting with the College of Engineering and then the Civil Engineer department. It wasn’t that interesting, they went through all the CE clubs and we were introduced to all the faculty members.

Lunch with the department after that and I and Johanna talked to the professor we are gonna have in our first course on Tuesday morning, Fundamentals of Transportation Engineering. He seemed cool.

Back home to leave the bike and then to the meeting point for our WoW group. Next on the agenda was kayaking. That was my first time and I went with a guy in my group named Charlie who is from Columbus, Ohio (where I have relatives). We didn’t fall in which was good because the blue sky was gone out over Morro Bay. It was very very dizzy and actually a bit cold. It was fun kayaking though and we saw a lot of sea lions (of course) but also a lot of sea otters. I’ve never seen otters in the wildlife, so it was so cool to see them now. There were a group of like 10 of them lying on their backs grooming and rolling around in the water. So amazing to see! They were big though, probably a meter in length.

Our next thing was a barbecue for all the transfer students. We got hamburger. Back home to change clothes for the next activity WoW-A-Rama. I walked with a guy named Ryan and we talked a lot about everything. We decided that we wanted to ditch WoW tomorrow during the day and hang out at the beach instead. I think I need to take a while off and just relax.

The WoW-A-Rama was fun! 5000 Wowies on the football field (or whatever type of field it was) and we had a leader on a podium telling us to do weird stuff. It was three hours of doing stupid things. We were close to people we have never met before but it was fine because everyone did it. First of all we had to be in straight lines and we had to remember exactly where because after doing a couple of games we were gonna form that exact line again. It was chaos when everyone were trying to find their spot after being away from it for a while. We got paired up with tons of different people, one time on of us was a Mustang and the other person should go on that first person’s back and shoot with the hands up in the air. My Mustang was called Alex as well. He was cute, but he had a girlfriend since he danced when the leader asked if we did (he also asked a lot of other questions). If you agreed you should dance, so you would get to know the people around you. The last thing we did was to find everyone on the field who were born in the same month as you. So we all ran around with fingers in the air representing the number of our month. When everyone was gathered we were divided into two circles, one inside the other. We were facing eachother and walking in different directions. WHen the music stopped we were gonna take stupid selfies of ourselves with that person. I left my phone in the car so I couldn’t take any selfies, but I was on several of them. This was all just to get to know faces and have something to talk about later. So much fun!

I left after that to bond with my roomies, which I really did. Well, how much you can bond with someone in the middle of the night for a couple of hours. We talked a lot and it was nice but I got really tired and we didn’t say goodnight until 1am. And I have to get up at 7am tomorrow to do a hike right behind our house called the Architecture Graveyard. That will be fun. And then I will sleep on the beach for a while. I so look forward to that!Morro Rock That big rock is called the Morro Rock and the three towers in the right of the picture are the towers of a power plant in Morro Bay. I didn’t take my phone with me in the kayak so there are no pictures of the sea otters. But I promise, I did really see them and I was as close as 2m away from them.Golden StateOkay, so this is Highway 1 and on one side there is the typical Californian nature, the golden hills. On the other side there was a lot of green. So weird how one road can divide the landscape like this. It was completely different on the both sides. PCV, Poly Canyon VIllageThis is a parking lot close to campus and in the background, the grey buildings is Poly Canyon Village, also called PCV. I will take a better picture at the cute little village hopefully soon.

Hike, WoW, roommates

What a day! So much has happened since I got up this morning it feels like several days crammed into one.

My day started with a hike, my first since the 12 mile (20km) in the dormant volcano Haleakala on Maui in January.I haven’t been working out at all this summer and doing this hike in the heat was hard, like real hard! The hike was called Avila Ridge and it was what it sounds like, a hike along a ridge near Avila Beach. It was a ”lagom” hike, but the way there was much harder than the way back. I survived though and that’s what’s matter. It took about 1,5h to walk about 2 miles.

Me and Johanna got dropped off at campus where we had another free lunch and then we went home to take a shower. The hike was just all sand so everything was dirty. I had time for fourty minutes of reading/resting before I had to go back to campus to start with the WoW thing.

This morning, right before I left for the hike I ran into one of my roommates, Lauren. She is the one I will share a bathroom with. She seems very nice too. The third girl I ran into quickly right before I headed to WoW (which by the way stands for Week of Welcome, not World of Warcraft – I am not getting myself involved with a third MMORPG). The third girl is Kelsey, from Iowa. We all talked for a while now when I got home from WoW, and they all seem nice. I look forward to getting to know them.

WoW groupsSo many many people at the I-field when finding their group. In total I think there are about 400 groups with around 10-15 people in each.

Anyway, Wow. That is a big deal here. We have activities from 8am to midnight every day, weekends 9am to 2am. Long days ahead. Today all of us left at 10pm so we could either go to bed or unpack which most of the people in the group hadn’t done yet since they moved in today.

It was a nice first day of WoW. We did some weird name games, the human knot, we had pizza and then went to the Big Fall Welcome thing at the stadium. That was such an American thing. The huge band was playing, there were cheerleaders and the President of the school held a speech and then there was a guy giving another speech about motivation. It was mostly directed to the freshmen, but it was still a very good speech and I will try and remember what he said.

Big Fall Welcome

After that we walked up to my building, Gypsum in PCV, because apparently they did the grouping so that all of us in #325 live in that building. A great way to get to know the people in the house, at least some of them. We listened to the guy taking care of the house and the CA (Community Advisors, who are students who live in the building and takes care of us and helps us whenever we need help, it’s great!).

After that I went up, talked to my roommates and felt a little bad for not contributing to the kitchen things. I will try to make it up to them by buying other things, like cleaning supplies, silverware and such things. We will have to talk about all this eventually. Like have a meeting where we set rules and such too.

I am going to bed now, I’m seeing double and I have another long day ahead of me with kayaking, a BBQ and something called WOW-A-RAMA which is a surprise for us WoWies (that is a word people in cars scream at us while they are driving my, it is like they think we are cute for being WoWies (Nollan at Chalmers University)).

Bank account, PolyCard, bike

This post used to contain pictures, but due to new storage limitations from WordPress, I had to fix the problem and decided to create a new blog that works as an archive for all the posts from my two years in California. This full post can be found here.

Today was very very warm again. And it started with a 2.5 mile walk to the bank. With no buses (because of the move in which by the way has made all of campus chaotic, the line of cars in to campus was so long today!!) and no bike I didn’t have another option. I was late and walked fast and was sweating a lot when I came to the bank where Johanna already were, starting up her account. Everything went smoothly and I put in $530. I had to withdraw most of it later in the day when we found out that we  could buy bikes for $150 (Johanna didn’t have that cash on her American bank account and couldn’t use her Swedish to withdraw so I let her borrow $200). Right after that we walked back up to campus where we checked in at the international center where we also had to sign up for an appointment with an advisor on Thursday morning to go through all our papers and check if everything is signed and ready and okay. Our next stop was to get PolyCard which is an ID card. It was a bit troublesome for me. My full name is Hanna Alexandra Camilla Bemm, but my given name is Alexandra, and that makes it really complicated here in the US, here Hanna is my name. I told the guy who took my photo and made the card that my given name is Alexandra but he said he could do nothing about it (even if I have put my preferred name in the system to Alexandra) so now my card says Hanna Bemm (like my email hbemm@…). Maybe I should have changed name to Hanna this year.

PoluCard

Our last stop of important things to do was to check in to WoW. There are over 400 groups, I am in 325 and our activities starts tomorrow at 3:30pm. I am so excited about that!! We got a bag and a t-shirt and information sheets.

No more plans for the day so we went downtown to do a little bit of shopping. I just bought a new pair of sunglasses and sunscreen. I found both of them at Ross, $4 for the sunglasses which are black and light blue on the inside, and the sunscreen was $7 instead of 9, win for me. We also did pedicures. That was way overdue. The woman doing my feet felt sorry for my blue big toe nail so she put on some diamonds on it to cover some of it up. It is a tiny flower and the blue/dark going out on the sides actually looks like petals. Very nice of her.

PedicureI got this after my first two days at Liseberg when I had too small shoes on. I will probably have this for another year…

Then we went home to the bike guy at Cal Poly. He sells bikes to international students and I and Johanna got one each. So great!! I haven’t been on a bike in probably five years, so it was a bit shaky at first, but it was nice, and it will be so fun going around town now. The breaks started making a lot of noise though so I will get help from him fixing it hopefully. It was awful!

My bike

Free dinner at campus for us WoW participants and then home where one of my roommates, Rachel from northern California, dropped most of her things off. She was very nice and so was her dad. They stayed for a while and we talked. The dad was excited for his daughter to have a Swedish roommate. I am so exotic, haha ;).

When they left I unpacked all my stuff so now my room is done. My drawers and the cabinet are so empty I think I need to go shopping for more clothes! One day soon 🙂

Backyard of my buildingMy building looks like a “U” and my apartment is in the middle. Anyway, this is the “backyard” in the middle of the U. Beautiful morning! California Polytechnic State UniversityThis picture was taken today, a little more than a year after I took this photo the first time. Main entrance to the schoolAngry BirdsMy roomMy room is done! It is very empty on the walls, so I am thinking about buying a big California Republic flag and put up over my desk. It would make the room less echo-y too.
Drawers under the bed
Too little clothes!! Rachel came with three suitcases and tons of other things. It was nice though, some things for the kitchen. She is by the way moving in tomorrow. She just dropped things off today.

Move in

Another long day and all the sun has made me very very tired, even if I slept for probably 10 hours last night. I started the day by moving in to my room on campus. I got help from Johanna’s IPC (International Peerl Contact) (mine was in San Francisco) with moving my two suitcases to campus. Very very nice of her. I just put my things in my room, packed a beach bag and we all went to the IPC’s house so she could make breakfast to her roommates. After that she took me to Target to buy some bedding and needful things lige hangers and a blanket.

Right when we were done Johanna and one of her roommates came and picked me up and we went to Avila Beach which is the closest beach to SLO. It didn’t take more than 15 minutes to go there, but it would probably take 30-40 with a bike. It was not a huge beach and it had some seaweeds on it, but it was nice anyway. It felt so good being back on a Californian beach, even if the difference between San Diego and San Luis Obispo is pretty big. It was one of the most beautiful days up there people told me. My phone told me 29C and with the sea breeze it was perfect. The sky was completely blue and it was just a wonderful day. First we spent lika a couple of hours lying at the beach and going in the water. It was cold, but nice once we were in. Soon thereafter we went a little bit north of the beach where we rented stand up paddle boards (SUP). We had them for an hour and went along the coast to a lighthouse. On the way out we saw a lot of seals, sea lions and some pelicans. The seals were actually right off the beach where people were. Curious little things. One of the seals also came up like two meters in front of my board and I got so surprised I almost fell in (which I never did during that whole hour). It was kinda like on Hawaii, but with seals instead of giant turtles, which by the way gave me the same reaction.

I was really exhausted after that. Both from the hard workout, but also from being out in the sun for so long (4 hours maybe?). I haven’t been out in the sun for that long since Hawaii in January!

I did get burned today. In my face and on my chest. Even though I put sunscreen on three times! This is a sign that I need my Beach Defense SPF 30! Nivea sun 20 isn’t good enough. When I went to Target yesterday they were out of stock. And I forgot to look for it today. I will need to buy that as soon as possible unless I want to look like a crayfish.

Avila Beach

I got driven home where I put my bedding on the bed which wasn’t very easy (completely unnecessary by the way to bring my own sheets), but I succeeded eventually. The bed is very hard though so I hope I won’t have trouble sleeping. I haven’t unpacked anything else of my things yet. I am too tired. I have been trying to get my phone to know that I am in the US instead of in Sweden, because I can’t download important apps. It worked out eventually after a phone call with google and a lot of googling before that.

I also had a lot of troubles with connecting to the WiFi here. My computer’s been acting weirdly with new WiFi’s. With my deep-buried computer skills I solved it both at the hostel and here. I still haven’t gotten it to work on my phone, but that’s because of another reason. I hope I can get it to work soon, the data reception isn’t that good in here.

Kitchen + living roomI am standing right inside of the door to the apartment and this is the kitchen and the living room. To the right is a corridor with four locked bedrooms and two bathrooms. My messy roomThis is my bedroom right when I moved in with all my stuff. I am too tired to unpack anything yet. Maybe tomorrow or the day after that (depending on what WoW offers tomorrow night). View from my windowThe view from my room, it could definitely be worse :).

I am alone tonight, the other girls are coming tomorrow or the day after that, I don’t really remember when. I have lots of things to do tomorrow again. First get my American bank account, then I need to check in at the international center, then get my PolyCard, then check in to Week of Welcome and start the WoW activities at 2pm. I have also been invited to frat parties this week by one of Johanna’s IPC’s roommates. That will be fun ;).

Now I will go to bed for the first time in my new bed!

First day in San Luis Obispo

This post used to contain pictures, but due to new storage limitations from WordPress, I had to fix the problem and decided to create a new blog that works as an archive for all the posts from my two years in California. This full post can be found here.

The first day of my new life is over, almost. And I wish I could go to bed right now, but going to bed at 8pm in a hostel where four other people sleep is probably not a good idea. Or maybe it is, so I can get some sleep before they all come in.

Yesterday was a very long day, I was awake for about 24h.  I got up at 9, picked up Johanna at 10 and I said goodbye to mom almost an hour later. The plane to Stockholm left Gothenburg at noon and 35 minutes later we were at Arlanda. A million people decided to be at that airport at the same time, retarted. We had no time at all left to do anything than to hurry to the gate, which of course was at the other end of the airport. Our plane from Gothenburg also landed at the national terminal so we had a long walk.

Me and Johanna had two of three seats in the middle on the second to last row in the plane. We left the middle one empty to have our feet on. The flight was only 10h, I was expecting 13, but then I remembered that 13 was the whole travel time. It was over very fast and it wasn’t that bad. At one point I was extremely bored and couldn’t do anything so I just sat there until I got the ants in my pants away and read some more. I finished The Assassin’s Blade and started the third book Heir of Fire. Amazing books!

I also watched a couple of movies. I saw Free Willy for the first time in probably 15 years. So cute movie! And then I watched Frozen for the third time in just a few months. That movie gets better and better every time I see it.

We landed at 4pm in Los Angeles and it took us three hours before we were on the road up to SLO. A million people had to get out of the plane before us, the qeue to US Customs was the longest I’ve ever seen and then we had to take a shuttle to the car rental place and that line was also retardedly long. We didn’t get a Nissan Altima which was a big win. Instead we got a Toyota Camry which was nice to drive. But it was a 3 hour drive and any 3 hour drive is tough after being awake for almost 24 hours. We survived and had dinner at Ihop. For some reason not as good as I remember. Maybe my sweet toothness has started to disappear?

I dropped Johanna off at her house and then tried to find my hostel. It took a little longer than it should have, but I arrived at midnight, got my room, and fell asleep directly.

Today I woke up at 6am and couldn’t go back to sleep. I lay in bed until 8:30 though when I got up and paid for my room and tried to connect to the wifi on my computer. I talked to one of my roommates which turned out to be a Swedish girls I’ve talked to on Facebook a few weeks ago. SHe was checking out today to move to her house.

I picked up Johanna and we took a brunch at a place we found in downtown SLO. It was good and well needed.  This whole eating-out-thing will stop as soon as I get a routine here which should be in a week when classes start. After that we went to Bank of America to start up bank accounts. They were busy today though, so we got appointments for it on Monday morning. That was too bad, I was looking forward to get rid of my big bunch of cash… Our next stop for the day was to get cell phone plans at T-mobile. We went to Best Buy and took the car there. A car would be so convenient (but we will wait a bit to get help with buying one, bot me and Johanna very much wants to buy a car so we can easily go to the beach, do grocery shopping and take weekend trips), but until then we will get to know the bus system and buy bikes as soon as possible. They have a very nice system with plans here if you don’t want to sign up for a long period of time. I was amazed when the guy told me how it worked. So, you bought a sim card for $15 and then you bought a month of a plan of your choosing. So depending on how much you pay (30, 40 or 50) you get different things. I decided to go for the one which cost $50 and in that unlimited texts and minutes and 1 GB are included. That is valid for 30 days and when that time period is over I need to buy a new plan and it doesn’t have to be the same as I had. And I don’t have to go to a store to buy it, I can do it online or by just sending texts. An awesome system. The only problem with it is that it is so ridiculously expensive. But I will survive.

Cell phone plan

The third stop was Target where I bought a lot of things, like towels, a hair dryer, hairspray, after sun lotion, tooth paste, Nair hair wax roll on and nail polish remover . I also had to buy a bag since the city of San Luis Obispo has decided not to hand out plastic bags anymore to save the environment. I like that, but I wish I would have remembered to bring my bags I brought from Sweden.

At Albertson’s I actually bought a reusable shopping bag when I bought some snacks for tomorrow’s visit to the beach.

We returned the car, took a taxi to downtown where we had an early dinner. We met four of the five Swedish students from Uppsala and then we went home and on the way took a few detours in to some stores, like Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch. At Bath & Body Works I found a scented candle that smelled amazing!! I am not allowed to have scented candles in my room, but I am thinking about buying it and just having it smell in my room and then bring it home. It was amazing! Oh right, I don’t think I can have things that smell in my room either. Then I will ask them if it is okay to have it in a plastic bag until I get home to Sweden. I need to have that candle! It smelled of Mahogany Teakwood. Sounds weird, smelled amazing.

At the hostel I went straight up to my room, started writing and will go to bed as soon as I am done. Maybe start marking interesting things out on the SLO map I got from the reception.

Tomorrow I will move to my room in the shared apartment on campus. The other girls won’t be there for another day or two. After that it’s beach time with Johanna and maybe Maria. There might be some shopping as well, I have a feeling I need to buy things for my room, like a comforter and pillows.

It was a nice day, the weather was warm (26C at its warmest) and the sun was out at all times. Palm trees does exist this far up north, even though there aren’t that many, and I still get happy every time I see them. I am back in California and I couldn’t be happier about it. This will be an amazing year!

Downtown SLOSLO downtown Santa Rosa Street, SLOAll around the city mountains rise. It is beautiful! Sunset from the hostelIt’s not over the ocean, but the sunset tonight was still amazing. Tiny SLOI came to the realization today that San Luis Obispo is very very tiny. This is pretty much it. A bicycle will be plenty enough and even walking. Only 45 000 live here. But it will be a nice experience to live in such a small city too.

Pizza and candy

My last day in Sweden is over. It ended the same way it started in February, with Swedish candy and pizza. First of all, what happened today was that I moved to mom’s and Felix moved to my place. We drove back and fourth twice and on the way back to mom’s she and I did a little grocery shopping so I could have something on the ridiculously long flight tomorrow. I changed my mind in the last second at ICA Maxi and decided to get a bag of candy anyway. I also bought a few bars and Vaniljgifflar (Swedish tiny cinnamon rolls but with vanilla flavor) and knäckebröd. I will get food on the plane, but I wanna make sure that I don’t have to be hungry.
That would suck…
Pretty much right after that mom drove me to Andrea’s place where I, Andrea and Emma had a cozy girls night with wine and pizza. We hung out for three hours, having a great time and then it was time for the goodbye. I will miss those two, that’s for sure!

On the bus home I listened to Maroon 5’s latest album “V”. It is so amazing. I hope there will be a possibility to charge the phone on the plane so I can listen to music. It is a bit hard to believe that I will be leaving this country again tomorrow. Last time feels like a dream and getting a second chance at moving to California is so small it shouldn’t be possible. It is too good to be true!

I have had a great time in Sweden these last seven months and it will be hard leaving. I am leaving more behind now than I did last time, but on the other hand I will only be gone for ten months instead of thirteen.

This is my company for the night. My beautiful and cuddly Chip! ❤

I am really excited and more than ready to start a new adventure!
Goodbye Gothenburg and Sweden!
Hello San Luis Obispo, California and USA!

Packing suitcases

In 36h I will be leaving this country again. I will go back to California and I am getting really excited. I’m starting to realize that this is really happening. This last week has gone by way too fast though. I have taking it very easy, playing a lot of computer games and also read a lot. And I’ve realized that I want to eat a lot of Swedish things before I leave, but it is too much for the few days left. I will end this stay in Sweden the same way I started it though, with Swedish pizza.

Today I packed my suitcases. Well, my check in bag and my carry-on. I managed to stay under 20kg which is Norwegian’s weight limit, but just with 3kg. That will be tough on the way home… I will leave a lot of things before going back home, but I will probably have to send a package home. My carry-on is so far only 4kg and can be 10. But I haven’t packed my computer yet and all my paper and everything else that is going in there. But I think it will be okay.

The other thing I did today was say goodbye to dad and Karin. We had a nice evening at the bar at the corner of my building. It wasn’t really a hard goodbye, I will see them so soon again. And I am secretly hoping that they will visit me :).

Right now I feel like playing Aion. I started playing that yesterday again after about 18 months. It is a similar game to Guild Wars but at the same time very different. I think Aion is a more complicated game than Guild Wars, but that might be because I’ve played Guild Wars for 7 years and Aion for three months. In Aion you can fly and there are instances which are PvPE, if you aren’t paying attention you will get killed by the other faction. Yesterday I also got my own house which I can decorate and stuff. I really wonder why they put that in an update a year ago. Kinda uneccesary in a MMORPG, but still fun since I like both killing monsters and building houses in The Sims. Aion is a very beautiful game, the graphic is better in GW, but the scenery in Aion is still amazing. The best thing about Aion is that it is free of charge. That’s actually why I started playing it 2 years ago, when they removed the monthly fee.

Instead of playing I will go to bed. I want to read and get a good night’s sleep. I didn’t sleep very many hours last night. And I have a day of cleaning tomorrow. In the afternoon I will move to mom’s and my brother will move in here. I hope he takes care of this amazing apartment.

Parties and packing

Yesterday was a busy day. First I got up pretty early so I had time to get myself ready to go out to Stora Lövsjön where there was a big birthday party for Karin among others. I knew almost everyone there and I had a nice couple of hours out in the woods. We barbecued and the food was really good. I had bread on a stick for the first time since I was probably eight. And shrimps marinated in a chili sauce and beef and a good pesto salad. I wouldn’t have mind staying for a while longer but I had to go home to prepare the for the party.

Stora Lövsjön

This time I had a goodbye party and I probably should have had that last time too. It was a huge success and everyone had a great time. Since I haven’t been working or doing anything at all this week I have been planning and been excited about the party. I didn’t have that much alcohol to serve so I decided to have a lot of snacks available. Like chips, candy, exotic fruits, the hot spinach and artichoke dip I made a week ago, punch and vodka marinated watermelon. The last three were the most popular. People asked for the recipe for the dip and the 4.5kg watermelon was gone long before the evening was over. The punch was made from Asti Cinzano which is a delicious sparkling wine, and raspberry soda. Frozen raspberries and grapes kept the punsch cold for the short while it was still some left.

We played Cards Against Humanity and talked all night. The last people left at 5am when the trams and buses had started going again. Such a fun evening!

Goodbye partyBlomman took my phone for a while and took some photos. Why hadn’t I thought about that?

Before I went to bed I actually took a lunchbox with korv stroganoff and I think that was why I wasn’t hungover today. I got up at 1 pm and another reason for not being hungover might have been the clean apartment. I cleaned everything up at like 4am. I did it very slowly so most people didn’t even notice. I have realized that cleaning up after a party before going to bed is the best thing to do. You don’t really mind when you’re still drunk. While emptying bottles and cans while hungover is one of the worst things you can do. Even if I wasn’t hungover I felt like eating something unhealthy anyway. So I took a little walk to Max Hamburger and brought it home. I remembered that last year I really missed Max so I thought that if there was a time to eat it, it was the day after a party. And it was really good!!! Goodbye Max!

After that my brother and his girlfriend came over for a while to help me pack a bit and tell me what I could leave. They stayed for a while but not too long. And the rest of the day was more packing for me. The whole kitchen table is full o everything except clothes and toiletries I will bring to California on Friday. And I actually think everything in the apartment that my brother didn’t want is packed in boxes. We will probably drive most of them to mom’s tomorrow. And then we will see when they want to move in. I am starting to think that I want to live with my mom the last few days. I’m really gonna miss her…

The clock just ticked away and it is already 12:30am. I think I should go to bed and read for a while.

Liseberg one last time

I had nothing on today’s schedule so I decided to go to Liseberg with my uncle and his girlfriend and two of her kids. We spent all the time in “Kaninlandet” which is the area for small kids. Her kids were one and three years old.  They were really cute and the three year-old started liking me directly. He dragged me to all the attractions and held my hand and stuff like that. Kids are so adorable. The one-year old were a bit mommy, but he had no problem exploring a rabbit house when mom and three year-old went on an attraction. I put him on a tiny slide several times as well and he had a great time.

There were a lot of people at Liseberg today though. It was hard getting through with the stroller.

Back home I prepared the vodka-infused watermelon I will serve tomorrow at the party and I’ve also eaten dinner. Korvstroganoff, leftovers from last night. Korvstroganoff is something I really missed last year so I made it for the last time this year last night. It is like beef stroganoff but with a special type of sausage we have here in Sweden called Falukorv. Swedes, don’t take falukorv for granted!!

I actually think I will go to bed now. I am really tired! Tomorrow will be a long day. Up a bit early to get into downtown to buy a birthday gift for Karin and then out to Lövsjön for a few hours of birthday party and relaxing. I can’t be there for too long though. I will need to get back home to take a shower before Andrea gets here at 6pm. And at that point we will prepare for the party and I guess the guests will arrive at 7pm at the earliest and most at 8:30-9pm. I am really excited about the party!!

Lunch with my brother

Yesterday I got up at 8:30 to put the meat in the oven. Felix and his girlfriend Sara was coming over to take a look at the apartment and eat lunch with me. Pulled cow was as good as pulled pork and they decided to take the apartment. Before they left they had applied for a couple of courses at Gothenburg University which is needed to stay in this apartment, even if it is just for ten months. I am relieved that this worked out, even if my brother wasn’t too excited about taking a German class in addition to all the other courses he will take at another school (which for some reason doesn’t count).

For the rest of the day I installed some computer games and played. I installed World of Goo and Spore. I played Spore until 3am last night which was a bit stupid. It is a fun game, but I can’t remember how to play the tribe stage. I don’t remember anything about it!

And speaking of computer games. The Sims 4 was released today! I am seriously thinking about buying it.

Today I was up early as well to do another interview for Cultural Care. On my way home I decided it was time to go to Liseberg and empty my locker.

At home I had leftovers from yesterday’s lunch and then I’ve played more Spore and also a bit RollerCoaster Tycoon 1. Then I got bored and watched Maleficient. That movie was amazing! So extremely sad and had kinda the same story as Frozen. Not an evil person, but a good person turning evil for a while. If you haven’t seen it, you all definitely should!!

Now I will actually go to bed. I didn’t get much sleep last night and dad is gonna come over pretty early with some boxes and something from grandma and grandpa. I wonder what it is! He was actually here today with some wooden plates to put on the floor in the basement to avoid water damages whenever there’s a leakage which happens now and then.
